    BIG® Begonias

Begonia x benariensis F1 hybrid BIG® is an outstanding garden performer with pure flower power at a height up to 24". They tolerate a wide range of climates and soils while performing well in sun or shade.

BIG® Begonia is the top result of decades of begonia breeding.  Breeding for garden performance is not an afterthought, it is where our thoughts begin.  All of our varieties are vigorously tested and selected in outdoor trials across the world to ensure that they stand up in the most adverse conditions.  BIG® begonias perform well in all areas of this country.  Available now with 8 different options including a brand new green leaf white.

    Nonstop® Begonias

Nonstop® Begonias are the industry leader in tuberous begonias. Performing well in partial shade to shade they serve well as a premium item in a 6"pot on up to a hanging basket.

Nonstop® Begonias are the industry standard when it comes to tuberous begonias.  When we include the "Mocca" dark leaf and "Joy" mounded vigorous sub series we now have 24 different colors for your needs.  This year we introduced two exciting new orange bicolors Fire and Sunset along with a Mocca Deep Red.  Breeding efforts are full steam ahead looking to improve and add some exciting new bicolor additions in the future.

Benary was founded by Ernst Benary in 1843 in Erfurt (former Eastern Germany), which was the center of the European Ornamental Industry.

    How it all began anew...
After World War II our family business was completely disowned by the socialist government and was refounded by Friedrich Benary in Hann. Münden, Lower Saxony, in 1946.
Friedrich started from scratch and traveled all over Europe with his bike to collect seed for his new business.
