Our History -- Formed in 1996, Coastal Nursery LLC is a “Family” owned business located in the Freehold area of Monmouth County, New Jersey. Primarily growing perennials and woody ornamentals, we sell high quality plants to be used in designed gardens and overall landscape projects. Starting with thirty-five houses in our nursery, we have since grown to sixty houses with propagation facilities. We also feature a “pot-in-pot” area where we have larger sizes of some items that aren’t able to fit in our normal cold frames. This has allowed us to further expand our plant line offering more choices for the customer.
Our propagation facility, in addition to liners we are required to purchase, provides us with additional quality liners that we use directly in our production. We like to think if it’s grown here, it should survive here. This being a special interest to Scott, he and his son Michael stay involved with the International Plant Propagators’ Society (IPPS). The IPPS motto, “to Seek and Share”, enables us to keep up with advancing technology, while also staying on the edge with new plant introductions.
Selling primarily to the wholesale trade (landscape contractors and garden centers), we work very hard to provide unique plant solutions to our customer’s endless supply of different site puzzles. Here at the nursery we pride ourselves on our prompt, attentive, and knowledgeable service. In addition we offer fast delivery for the entire state of New Jersey. Out of state deliveries can also be arranged. With an excellent network of suppliers backing up our own stock, we can hopefully provide a complete quality solution to all your questions and requirements.
