Welcome to Lavalette Landscaping, formerly Lavalette Nursery. Since 1947 we have provided the Tri-state area with complete, professional landscaping that reflects our client's wishes. We design and install projects that are exciting and beautiful while never losing sight of the practical. Our jobs range from planting that one special tree, to complete home landscapes from the preliminary design ideas to the final details. We can keep your landscape looking good with regular maintenance and provide answers to any questions you might have later on. For people who want to do their own landscaping, we have the plants, materials and design ideas to ensure your success.

History of Lavalette Nursery

Lavalette Landscaping, originally Lavalette Nursery, was started in 1947 by Bill Springer and a partner on a small farm south of Huntington, West Virginia.

Houses were built, plants were set out, families were started and a business was born. The nursery's main focus in those early days was selling and installing the plants they grew.

The primary market has always been in Huntington, and in 1954 the partners decided to build a garden center in the city itself. They chose as their new home the site of an abandoned rock quarry on U.S. 52 just inside the city's southern limits.

In the past half century, many changes have taken place. Nursery stock is no longer grown onsite and the site on 5th Street Hill is no longer where Lavalette Landscaping is located. We have moved back to our roots, back to the small farm south of Huntington. Now our main focus is landscape design and maintenance, but the mission remains the same: To provide quality plants, products and services at a fair price in a friendly, professional manner.
