Under the name of Homestead Growers, we grow high-quality plants for our retail store and landscape division, as well as for area landscape companies and contractors. While the production facility began in 1985, a major expansion took place in 2001, so that there is currently more than 330,000 square feet of protected growing space.
On average, our facility grows approximately 150,000 perennials, 85,000 trees and shrubs, and 30,000 poinsettias every year! Homestead Gardens employs the best horticulture professionals in the industry, who maintain strict quality-control measures to ensure that you, the customer, receive the best plants possible. Nestled amidst the beautiful rolling countryside of Davidsonville, Maryland, Homestead Gardens’ Davidsonville location is the largest enclosed garden center in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. metropolitan areas.
Founded in 1973 by Don Riddle, Jr., our landmark nursery boasts the area’s largest selection of annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs, landscaping design and build service, outdoor lighting, garden accessories, casual furniture, gifts & decor, and more!
Homestead Gardens’ Severna Park location was opened in 2010 and is a great resource for plants, gifts and so much more for residents in Anne Arundel County and beyond. Local residents have praised the store’s unique style which is perfectly suited for the area and highlights the quality of the Homestead Gardens’ brand.
Homestead Gardens’ Horticultural Supply Center, affectionately called Hort Supply, is located on Governor Bridge Road in Davidsonville. Hort Supply caters to landscape contractors, builders and municipalities in the DC-Baltimore region and has become their one-stop-shopping solution for landscape and plant supplies. In addition, Hort Supply offers contractors and home-owners tool rentals.
From our humble beginnings as a roadside stand first selling azaleas, bedding plants, mums and poinsettias, Homestead Gardens has since expanded to become one of the country’s leading garden centers.
